RSVP Volunteer Appreciation Nite 2010

RSVP Volunteer Appreciation Nite 2010 ended with a high note on 10 Dec 2010. Held at The Grassroots' Club, the function was attended by 350 volunteers, partners in service and donors. It was a night with great entertainment, lots of games, laughter and joy.

A big hand to all the spontaneous volunteers who went on stage for a few laughs. We would like to thank the performers for putting up a good show: The Peranakan Voices, Jolly Group, Mr Robert Fernando and Team Eva-Luna Weddings from Geylang West Community Club.

This year, the 436 active volunteer who have given invaluable service for the period 2009/2010 were each given a token comprising a travel-size stainless steel cutlery. Certificates of Appreciation were accorded to 27 volunteers for 10 years of service with RSVP.

The highlight of the evening was the Volunteer of the Year Award 2010. The recipient, Mrs Stella Tan, received the trophy from Mr Abdullah Tarmugi, the Guest of Honour, amidst tremendous applause from her fellow volunteer members. As there could only be one title holder, commendation awards were given for the first time to 3 other deserving volunteers namely Mr Richard Ng Geok Siang, Ms Aileen Tay Seck Khoon and Mr Paul Lee Lye Teck.

And for the first time too, the President’s Award was introduced to reward volunteers who have provided exceptional services to RSVP. The 3 recipients were Mr Koh Juay Meng, Mr John Lee Mong Wah and Mr Lee Kay Beng.
