Mentoring Programme
If you like to mentor children, you can consider volunteering as a mentor to at-risk children aged nine to 11 years from low-income families. Volunteers help provide social and emotional support to them besides helping to inculcate the discipline of daily study and homework, develop character and impart life skills to them. The volunteers also share valuable experiences and values with them - the future useful citizens of Singapore. This programme contributes to intergenerational integration. |

REQUIREMENTS: A mentor must commit to two terms in an academic year, once a week for three hours in the school in the afternoons. Training is provided, including sessions on the basic of mentoring intervention, classroom management techniques, elements of child befriending psychology, and so on. |
